Dr. Ali is the Pioneers Chair in Telecommunications and a Professor of telecommunications in the Bellisario College at the Pennsylvania State University. He is the author of numerous articles, books, and publications. For our Fall 2025 ML Forum, Dr. Ali joins us to discuss his book, Farm Fresh Broadband: The Politics of Rural Connectivity (MIT Press, 2021). In this book, Dr. Ali examines the politics of broadband policy, highlights the rural broadband divide in America, explores the policies that have failed to bridge the divide, and urges action.
